The official German name of the variety is Blauer Spätburgunder.
When this grape variety comes into contact with roasted oak, the aromas literally explode.
With each year of maturity, this wine becomes even rounder.

In 1868, Emma & Leopold Bastian laid the foundation for unmistakable wine enjoyment on the Kaiserstuhl. Josef Bastian bottled the first Baden wines around 1897.
