My small apiary is located at the entrance to the Rench Valley in Nesselried. Within the bees' flight radius are meadows and pastures, orchards, and deciduous forests.
From the beginning of May, the nectar supply for the bees gradually dries up. To provide them with enough food, I migrate with the colonies to the northern Black Forest, where they can then feast on the abundant supply of nectar and honeydew in the rapeseed and forest.
Species-appropriate beekeeping, as well as careful care and management of the bee colonies, promotes the natural development of my bees. For me, my bees always come first, before the honey yield. If my bees are doing well, I don't have to worry about the honey yield, as they thank me for my careful care and attention to the animals by diligently collecting honey.
Not top quantities, but top qualities are the focus of my work.
During my time as a beekeeper, I have received a gold medal for my honey several times at the Baden Beekeepers' Day. Most recently in 2023. This reflects the high standards I set for myself.
